MLB catcher Sal Fasano is a huge champion. His Fu-Manchu is just awesome. He caused the Yankees to grow staches in the 2nd half of the 2006 season. He has a nationwide fan club called "Sal's Pals". Nice work Sal!

I first met Sal when he was playing for the Rockford Royals. He was sitting by the turnstiles outside the park and I started a conversation with him. He gave me a tour of the ballpark and clubhouse and when we walked through the clubhouse he introduced me as the "new pitcher" all you could hear were groans as I was probaby 10 years their senior! Anyway, he autographed his gamer ballcap for me and I was on my way. A real class act he is! If you get a chance read the Readers Digest article from August of 2008. He truly is everything that is great about our national pastime.
